Can you get private auto financing if you currently owe on a vehicle?

If you have a current auto loan, is it possible to get private financing through a credit union or bank, or do you have to trade in your vehicle and finance with the dealer? I’m curious how that would work..
Sorry, I will clarify…If you want to get rid of your current vehicle and purchase another vehicle, not if you want to get a second car loan.

   Financing own as you want as you want as long as many cars that you want as many cars and pay on both of them.
